Our
story begin in 1993 when we prepared a plan to develop boutique resorts in certain national parks of Indonesia. Our professional
experience in architecture was then expanded to new horizon of environmental understanding. The First International Ecotourism
Workshop and Field Seminar in US Virgin Islands is an important starting point to have better understanding of ecotourism
essentials.
With
actualized perspective, we then proceed a land concession in a national park of West Java. The contract management in Situ
Gunung (Sukabumi) is our first project that run in environmental friendly concept. A join operation in West
Bali National Park with 25 years of concession begin to operate in early 2000 as Waka Shorea Resort. This
14 bungalows resort implements sustainable design principles.
Networking
with many environmentalists, NGOs, government bodies, local communities, and ecotourism practitioners give us perspective
that program or activity development is a key issue in ecotourism business. Together with some experienced professionals
we then setup and run Jelajah Persada Indonesia -- an independent ecotourism company that focus
in developing nature based activities in Indonesia. With almost 10 years of experience in ecotourism it is our mission
to provide our guests the most valued environmental experiences ever.
